How does one go about describing themselves? I’ll start by saying that I grew up in the Nicola Vally in British Columbia. My family are creative people, but they don’t know it. My mom has a great imagination, my dad is a genius with mechanical/electrical and my brother was a wizard at constructing scale models when we were small. I was lucky enough to grow up with an affinity for all of these things sketching, building and creating from a very young age.
I’m in my 3rd year of University now at Emily Carr studying for my Bachelor of Design, and after that I’m considering a Masters in Education, Education Technology or Curriculum Design. I have a fascination for how things work and how to build meaningful exchanges and interfaces between people and objects. I have endless patience in teaching computer literacy and a genuine love of learning.
Recently I was honored to receive a scholarship from the Minerva Foundation for BC Women and I want to make the most of that support by finding ways to give back to women in roles in education and professional development. Hopefully I can have a lot of fun along the way!
