Below you will find my shoe series; a ten day exploration. During my 2nd year drawing class students were asked to pick one object and draw it ten different places. Since I was traveling at the time I decided to use my own shoe (it was the only thing I carried with me that I found interesting enough to draw). To make the project more exciting I began to personify it. Something odd happened during the drawing process and I ended up pondering the life of a shoe. What would it be like to be a shoe all day long? Stepped in/on? Worn? Kicked off? Is it patiently waiting its time to go out and experience the world? Do shoes feel sad, happy or lonely? Could a shoe fall in love? You might find my exploration a bit unusual but it was fun and got me thinking about the living environments closer to the ground that we seldom consider otherwise.
